Make Gmail Your Default Email Client in Any Browser with Gmail Notifier

Generally, whenever you click on any mailto: link on any webpage, your desktop email client such as Outllok Express will be opened automatically. But many people want to use their email account in browser as default email client rather than this desktop email client. You can make Gmail your default email client using the program “Gmail Notifier”. So whenever you click on email link, it will lead you to your online Gmail account.

To make Gmail your default email client, first download Gmail Notifier (for Windows 2000 and Xp) and Install it. During the installation process, you will see this following screen. Now select the option “Use for outgoing mail” .

Click on the Next button and complete the installation progress. Now Gmail will become your default email client in any browser.

If you don’t want Gmail as the default email client for now and don’t want to uninstall the program “Gmail Notifier”, just go to your system tray and click on the Gmail Notifier Icon and select “options” from pop up menu.

Then the following dialog box will be appeared. Uncheck the option “Use Gmail gor internet mailto: links and click OK button.

Later you can make Gmail your Default program  just by selecting this option again.

Make Gmail your default Email client in any browser in Mac O.S.

For Mac Operating system, this process is slightly diffrent.

• First download the Gmail Notifier for Mac O.S. and Install it.
• Open Gmail Notifier program and select the option “Preferences” under the Mail Menu.
• Select the tab “Gmail” and open the Compose mail drop-down menu and select Gmail.
