Unlock iOS 4.0 iPhone 3GS with 04.26.08 baseband using Ultrasn0w

Recently, iPhone Dev Team has released ultrasn0w 0.92.1 for the iPhone running iOS 4,0 with 04.26.08 baseband. So users now can unlock their iPhone 3gs (o4.26.08) running on 4.0 GM with the ultrasn0w. It doesn’t use any new exploits.

If you’re running baseband 04.26.08 on 4.0GM, you can install ultrasn0w by adding http://ios4.ultrasn0w.org to your Cydia source list (do not use the repo666.ultrasn0w.com repo because that still has the older version 0.92). Note: ultrasn0w is spelled with a zero, not the letter “o”.

This upgrade is only for iOS 4.0 GM iPhone 3gs with 04.26.08 baseband. It is not for the new iPhone 3.1.3 with o5.12.01 baseband and neither for iOS 4 on baseband other than 04.26.08.

Unlock iOS 4.0 GM iPhone 3GS using ultrasn0w 0.92.1.

1. First start Cydia app on your iPhone and got to Manage > Sources.

2. Now tap on the Edit button at the top of the screen and than on the Add button.

3. Type http://ios4.ultrasn0w.org URL in the box and click the Add Source button. Here make sure the ultrasn0w is with number zero 0, not the alphabet letter “o”.

4. Cydia will automatically install the sources. Once the installation completed, Search for ultrasn0w 0.92 in Cydia and install it in your iPhone.

After installation completed, restart the iPhone. Than your iPhone should be unlocked and you will be able to use it with the carrier of your choice.
