Locktopus lets you enable Password Protection to any iPhone app

Locktopus is a useful Cydia app which can provide password protection to any of your application including Messages, Mail, Calendar, Contacts etc app on your iPhone. Using Locktopus app, your friend can’t access your personal stuff such as Photos, SMS, notes etc.

To use the Locktopus app, your iPhone 4, 3GS or 3G must be jailbroken. Read here for Jailbreak guide. The app is available in Cydia in $2 and it is compatible with all jailbroken iOS 4.x and 3.x firmwares.

How to install and use Locktopus on iPhone 4, 3GS and 3G

1. Launch the Cydia, got to Search tab and Search for Locktopus app.

2. This app is not free, purchase it in $2 and install it on your iPhone

3. Restart your springboard.

After restarting the springboard, you will be welcomed with a message that your default password is password which you can change via Settings. This password will be used to unlock your protected app on device.

Now in your iPhone Home screen, press and hold any app until it shakes, a lock symbol will appear on all apps. Now just by tapping that symbol you can lock or unlock any application you want.

Than whenever you or other person will try to launch any locked app on iPhone, a message will appear asking password. And the app can’t be open without entering the password.
