How to Save SHSH Blobs of Apple TV 2G running iOS 4.1 using TinyUmbrella 4.1.5

Earlier we posted an article that the iPhone Dev Team managed to Jailbreak Apple TV 2G running iOS 4.1 via SHAtter exploit and pre-jailbroken IPSW from PwnageTool. So Apply may try to fix this exploit by releasing the update version of firmware.

It is highly advised to save SHSH Blobs for your new Apple TV before Apple fixes it, so that you’ll be always able to revert to the stock firmware to jailbreak it. Follow this simple steps from to backup the SHSH blobs of Apple TV 2G device using TinyUmbrella v4.1.5.

How to backup SHSH Blobs for Apple TV 2G running iOS 4.1

1. Download and install TinyUmbrella 4.1.5 which now supports Apple TV. (Download link is given below)

2. Connect your Apple TV with your computer using micro USB cable. To enter ‘recovery mode’ make sure that neither HDMI nor power cord is connected to the Apple TV.

3. iTunes will now recognize your Apple TV.

4. Open TinyUmbrella and select ‘Advanced Options’.

5. Make sure that ‘Requested Version’ is set to ‘AppleTV 4.1′ and ‘Request From’ to ‘Cydia’.

6. Enter the ECID for your Apple TV manually. You can find your ECID in the System Profiler (Apple Logo -> About This Mac -> More Info) under the USB tab. Copy your ECID.

7. Paste your ECID into the empty field.

8. Select ‘Save My SHSH’. Wait for confirmation message.

You are done now. You have now saved SHSH Blobs of Apple TV 2G running iOS 4.1 on Cydia server which can be used later to restore.
