Google Launces a Minisite for the Google TV product

Google has just launched an official minisite for its upcoming Google TV product, revealing many details about it. With Google TV, you can access almost everything on the web like watch your favorite web videos, view photos, play games, chat with friends and do everything else you’re accustomed to doing online.

Sony is producing the Google TV sets and Logitech is producing the set top boxes for them.Your Android phone or iPhone can be used to control your Google TV in place of a remote control. Use your voice to search, and even use multiple phones to control the same TV.

According to the Google TV minisite, some useful apps such as Twitter, Pandora, Netflix and others are on their way to the Google TV.

Some Google TV features highlighted on the site:-

• Apps are going to be a key feature and will include Pandora, Chrome, Twitter, Amazon, Android Gallery, and “starting early next year,” apps from the Android Market.
• Major TV networks such as HBO, TNT, TBS, CNN will have some sort of swanky video portal. This could possible be the device’s killer function.
• Search all of the content on your TV, Web and apps with a single click.
• Fling, play audio or video on your phone on Google TV with the press of the button.
• YouTube is properly formatted for a larger screen. Possibly a version of Leanback.
• You’ll be able to browse the web or use apps while watching TV. Think picture-in-picture.
• Google TV doesn’t launch to live content, but rather a customizable homepage with shortcuts.
• Google Queue: A DVR for the web. Build a list of websites, video podcasts, YouTube videos and watch them later.
• Over-the-air updates
