Skype now available for Android phones to make Free Calls

Skype for androidFinally, Skype (Voice-Over-IP service) has officially announced its Skype app for a wide range of Android phones. With the Skype app on Android, you can make free Skype-to-Skype calls and send and receive IMs for free, one-to-one or with a group.

Skype for Android will work over Wi-Fi or a mobile data connection, though in the U.S., users can only make calls over Wi-Fi connection. For now, Video calling does not work on the Skype for Android.

It also lets you make phone call to person, don’t have the Skype on phone using the Skype credits at attractive rate.

Some Key Features of Skype app on Android devices:-

  • Make free Skype-to-Skype calls over WiFi or mobile data connection.
  • Make low rate Skype calls to landline or mobile phones
  • Send and receive instant messages to one or a group of friends on Skype
  • Synchronize contacts between Skype and the native address book and after synchronization placeSkype calls directly from the native address book.
  • See when Skype contacts are online and available to call or chat
  • Easily import names and numbers to the Skype application from the native address book
  • Receive calls on their Skype online number

For now Skype supports Android OS 2.1 and later. You can download it from the Android Market or from skype.com/m URL on your phone.

Note:-

  • Skype is not available in the Android Market in China or Japan.
  • Skype has been tested on HTC and Motorola devices with Android OS 2.1 and above.
