Jailbreak your iOS 4.1 iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS using Greenpois0n [Mac]

Recently, The Chronic Dev Team has released the GreenpoiS0n tool for Mac to jailbreak iOS 4.1 firmware. It supports iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch 4G/3G running iOS 4.1 and iPad. Greenpois0n uses geohot’s bootrom USB exploit used in limera1n to jailbreak the devices, not using the Pod2g’s SHAtter exploit.

Do not update to iOS 4.1 if you want to unlock the device. Ultrasn0w does not support that baseband yet. The only exception is the iPhone 4.

Follow these instructions on to jailbreak your iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4 using Greenpois0n for Mac. First download the Mac version Greenpois0n from here.

How to Jailbreak iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS with Greenpois0n [Mac]

1. Launch the Greenpois0n tool, connect your iPhone to computer via USB cable and than turn it off. 2. Click the Jailbreak button to start process.

3. Follow the on screen instruction to place your iPhone into DFU mode.

• Press and hold the sleep button for 3 seconds.
• Continue holding sleep, then press and hold home for 9 seconds.
• Now release sleep button but keep holding home for 15 seconds.

4. Once your iPhone is successfully in DFU mode the jailbreak will begin automatically.

5. Click the Quit button once the software application has completed.

6. After that your iPhone may restart.  You will have a new Loader icon on your springboard. Tap to launch it.

7. Tap on Cydia and than Install it. Once Cydia has installed successfully you will be asked if you want to remove Loader from your device.

8. Click Remove button then press the Home button. Your device will now automatically reboot.

You are done now. You will have a jailbroken iPhone with Cydia Store.
