HP announces its HP Slate 500 [Specification, Hands On video]

Finally, HP has announced its Windows 7 powered Tablet – HP Slate 500. The new HP Slate 500 Tablet PC is designed specifically for business, enterprise and vertical customers looking for the mobility of a tablet, the familiarity of Microsoft Windows 7 and the ability to run custom or corporate applications.

It also includes HDMI-out port, USB port, keyboard button, headphone jacks and surrounds metal edges and pen-input (Stylus) capabilities for handwritten emails or taking notes.

The main HP Slate 500 features and specifications:-

  • Weight: 1.5 lb (0.68 kg)
  • Display: 8.9 inch (1024 x600) Multi Touch screen and Pen input
  • Powered by Windows 7  OS
  • Powered by 1.86GHz Intel Atom Z540 Processor
  • 2GB of RAM,
  • 64GB SSD
  • Dual Camera, front VGA and 3 MP rear camera (1080p video)
  • Supports Wi-Fi CERTIFIEDTM WLAN
  • Battery life 5 hours

According to HP, the HP Slate 500 will be available for $799 and will come with HP Slate Digital Pen stylus, HP Slate Dock, and HP Slate Portfolio case.
