Speed up Cydia by Removing Annoying Ads in Cydia Apps Page

For jailbroken iPhone and iPod users, advertisements appearing in Cydia apps are become a real problem and also very annoying sometimes. Cydia displays Google ads, Fastclick and some others ads inside every single package/app page.

By disabling or removing the ads in Cydia, you can improve performance and overall experience on your iPhone or iPod Touch. Most users are not aware of it, it is relatively easy to get rid of these annoying ads in Cydia once and for all.

Follow these quick and easy way to eliminate these ads in Cydia on your device.

1. First FTP or SSH into your iPhone or iPod Touch device.

2. Go to this file /Applications / Cydia.app / package.js

3. Now in the package.js file look for the below line, may be line 209.

Find this

if (depiction == null)

and change it to

if (depiction == null || true)

4. Now save file back to the same place, Respring your iPhone/iPod Touch and launch Cydia.

Now your Cydia store should be ads free.

If you are having problems with this method, follow these steps.

For this method two work, make sure that you don’t perform the above steps or reverse them if you have already.

Now SSH into your iPhone or iPod Touch, locate the /etc/hosts/ file and insert the following two lines of code.

127.0.0.1 pagead2.googlesyndication.com

127.0.0.1 media.fastclick.net

Respring or Reboot your device, and no more ads on Cydia app.
