Bypass iTunes Errors During iOS 4.1 Custom IPSW Firmware Restore in iTunes with iREB 4.1

iH8sn0w has just released iREB 4.1, the iTunes restore error bypasser to support all new & old iOS 4.1 devices, iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad and Apple TV.

For those who don’t know iREB (iTunes Restore Error Bypasser) lets you bypass any error while restoring to a custom IPSW file created by Sn0wbreeze. With the updated version of iREB 4.1, you can bypass 1604, 1603, 1602, 1601, 1600 iTunes errors during iOS 4.1 firmware restore.

iREB 4.1 compatible with:-

• iPhone 4, iPhone 2G/3G
• iPhone 3G[S] (old & new bootrom)
• iPod Touch 1G /3G
• iPod Touch 2G (MB & MC)
• iPod Touch 4
• iPad
• Apple TV 2

In order to use iREB 4.1, first you need to put your device into DFU mode, follow these instruction to get DFU mode.

• iPhone / iPod Touch / iPad – Follow these Steps

Power off your iPhone / iPad / iPod Touch

Hold both the power and home button together for exactly 10 seconds

Now, release the power button but, keep holding the home bottom for 15 to 20 seconds may be till iTunes recognize your iPhone.

• Apple TV 2G – Follow these Steps

Plugin your Apple TV with microUSB

Now, Hold down the Menu + Down Button together for 6 seconds to reboot (timing is very important)

When you see that your Apple TV is rebooting, immediately Hold the Menu + Play Button together until this message pops up in iTunes Apple TV in recovery mode has been detected.

Once iTunes detected your iDevice in Recovery mode, close iTunes and launch iREB 4.1. Select you device and wait until you see white or a red screen on your iPhone or iPod touch.

Than start iTunes again, select your device from the left sidebar. Now press and hold Shift button on the keyboard and then click on Restore button in the iTunes, release the Shift button and select the cooked .ipsw file and click OK.

You are done,  iTunes should now be able to restore your iPhone or iPod touch to the latest iOS 4.1 firmware without any problems.
