Oprah Winfrey, One of the most prolific, most watched television hosts across America has announced on Monday, the Apple iPad is her “number one favorite thing ever,” adding that from “our very first moment together I knew it had stolen my heart.”
Holding a 3G iPad, Oprah said“Words cannot describe what I feel for this magnificent, magnificent device. I really think it’s the best invention of the century so far.”
Ever since 2002, Oprah Winfrey has ended each year with a Christmas celebration in the form of her “Favorite Things” episode, in which she has lavished the members of her audience with the products of the year that entertainment’s most influential woman has gazed beneficently upon.
Oprah also gave all 275 members of her studio audience an iPad for free. Check out the moment Oprah gave out an iPad to every member of her audience below.
Other items on Winfrey’s “favorite things” list include a five-year membership to Netflix, a Nikon D3100 Digital SLR Camera, and a Volkswagen 2012 Beetle.
As an immensely popular television host, Winfrey has a great deal of influence over the sale of products. In 2008, her endorsement of Amazon’s Kindle e-reader led to a flood of orders. Online retailer Amazon had trouble keeping up with demand for its device for the remainder of the holiday season.
