Google today has unveiled the long waited Nexus S along with their new Android 2.3 Gingerbread. The new smartphone Nexus S is manufactured by Samsung and have same processor that is Hummingbird which is found in Galaxy S.
The new version of Android 2.3 Gingerbread brings some new amazing features as,
- Rich multimedia including support for VP8 and WebM video
- New audio effects and new sensor types
- Support for front-facing cameras
- SIP/VoIP and Near Field Communication (NFC)
- Enhancements for game developers
- Faster and more intuitive text input

Google has started rolling out Android 2.3 to Nexus One users. It will of course take a while before the roll out completes. Keep checking the notification tray for a “System Alert” for Android 2.3 which could be here for you any minute.
