A few days ago, Fail0verflow a group of German hackers found an exploit dubbed as “epic PS3 security bypass”, that can break PlayStation 3 console security in a massive way. Fail0verflow discovered the way to calculate the security keys, which is just a Sony signature that lets the PS3 know whether the application they’re trying to open is legit, or not.
Now the famous iPhone hacker GeoHot has released the PS3 METLDR root key to the public, which allows access to the PS3′s loaders, and reportedly could be used to allow any unsigned code to be run on the system.
