Redsn0w 0.9.7b6 Untethered Jailbreak for iOS 4.2.1 ! Fixes Skype Issues

The iPhone Dev Team has just released the 6th Beta of Redsn0w 0.9.7 untethered jailbreak for iPhone 4, iPod Touch 4 and iPad on iOS 4.2.1. Redsn0w 0.9.7b6 fixes Skype crashes issue on iOS device and available for Mac OS X users only.

The iPhone Dev Team is now working on porting the “Monte” technique back to iOS 4.1. This will enable users to untether the iOS 4.2.1 jailbreak on iPhone, iPad and iPod-Touch without having 4.2b3 SHSH blobs saved on Cydia.

The sixth beta is now available (testers ONLY please!). This version fixes Skype. Please do not pirate the 4.2b3 IPSW! Only those enrolled in the iPhone Developer program have legitimate access to that IPSW using these links (http://pastie.org/1403214) (the links won’t work unless you’re a legit developer currently logged in).

Unlike the last few betas, you can freely run beta6 over beta5 without a problem (but for testing purposes, we’d really like people to try both ways….from stock, and from already jailbroken).

Now that the sandbox, Bluetooth, and Skype issues are fixed, our next priority is porting Monte back to 4.1. We’ll also try to make the Windows version less painfully slow.

you can now run Redsn0w 0.9.7 Beta 6 over your previous Beta 5 jailbreak, without any problems. The iPhone Dev Team is targeting to release the next version of Redsn0w 0.9.7 Beta to work with iOS 4.1 SHSH, so there would be no need to download 4.2 Beta 3 firmware.
