According to NBC report, Apple has asked the federal government to help stop hackers from jailbreaking iPhones.
Apple told the U.S. Copyright Office,
Current jailbreak technologies now in widespread use utilize unauthorized modifications to the copyrighted bootloader and operating system, resulting in the infringement of the copyrights in those programs.
Even in the July last year the United States government has made a rule that as long as the jailbreaking and unlocking of iPhone were not used for piracy purposes it is legal.
