Here we are with the news, The Chronic Dev Team have finally achieved a successful untether jailbreak for iOS 4.2.1 and now they are planning to release an updated version of greenpois0n to jailbreak iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch on iOS 4.2.1.
@posixninja, the Chronic Dev member has confirmed that this untether jailbreak won’t require iOS 4.2 beta 3 SHSH blobs.
The Redsn0w 0.9.7 can also jailbreak iOS 4.2.1 untetheredly but it still requires you to save SHSH blobs of 4.2b3 on Cydia. So without SHSH blobs you can not untethered jailbreak.
Pod2g found a bug in this jailbreak tool in which the wifi icon doesn’t show up. Once it will be fixed they will package the untether for release.
Chronic Dev Team have also published a video of an untethered jailbroken iPhone 4 running iOS 4.2.1 in action.
