iOS 5 To Introduce Revamped Push Notification System for iPhone, iPad, iPod touch [Report]

According to CultofMac source, Apple is planning to revamp pop up notification system for new text messages, voicemails and the like of iOS as its is criticized as one of the weakest aspect of the iOS as compared to other platforms like Android, WP7 and webOS notification system.

Apple will be buying a small company to build this technology for their iOS that offers a notification system in the App Store. In May 2010, Apple has even hired Rich Dellinger who was earlier UI design architect at Palm and creator of the non-intrusive webOS notification system.

There are speculates that it may be Boxcar from App Remix, which currently offers an iOS application providing push notifications for a variety of services such as Twitter, Facebook and E-mail.

It is expected that Apple will introduce its new notification system in iOS 5 for iPhone 5.
