Jailbreak your Apple TV 2G Untethered on iOS 4.2.1 using GreenPois0n RC6 [Guide]

Just recently, Chronic Dev Team has released GreenPois0n RC6 jailbreak tool for Windows and Mac users which adds full support for untethered iOS 4.2.1 jailbreak on Apple TV 2G.

Follow this guide to jailbreak your Apple TV 2G, untethered on iOS 4.2.1 using GreenPois0n RC6.

Jailbreak Apple TV 2G on iOS 4.2.1 with Greenpois0n RC6

1. Download Greepois0n RC6 for Windows & Mac OS X.

2. First make sure your Apple TV 2 is running iOS 4.2.1, if not then update it using iTunes.

3. Now launch Greenpois0n RC6 and click on Yes when it prompts for Apple TV 2G Jailbreak.

4. Connect your Apple TV to your computer via microUSB cable.

5. Click the Jailbreak button and than follow on-screen instructions to put Apple TV 2G in DFU mode.

• Plug Apple TV in to USB (7 sec)
• Plug in power adapter (3 sec)
• Press and hold MENU and PLAY/PAUSE (7 sec)
• Release both buttons

6. Once your Apple TV 2G is in DFU mode, Greenpois0n will start to jailbreak Apple TV untethered on iOS 4.2.1, wait until the rest of the jailbreak process completes.

That’s it, now you should have jailbroken Apple TV untethered on iOS 4.2.1. After that to install Cydia store, connect it to your TV, go to the “Greenpois0n” menu and select “Inject Software” option.
