Users who have jailbroken iPhones with Greenpois0n on iOS 4.2.1 firmware, attempt to open books purchased from the iBook store are prompted with the following error message:
There is a problem with the configuration of your iPhone. Please restore with iTunes and reinstall iBooks. And, if you restore your device from iTunes, it will remove the jailbreak.
Whenever a user tries to open a Book purchased from the iBook store, iBooks tries to run unsigned or improperly signed binaries to see if the device is jailbroken. If those binaries run successfully, the device is marked as having been jailbroken and the eBook refuses to open.
Now a quick solution is available on Cydia store that lets you read the purchased iBooks on already jailbroken device on iOS 4.2.1, without needing restore and re-jailbreak. The name of this tweak is iBooks Fix and it is available for free.
How to fix the iBooks issue on iPhone using iBooks Fix tweak
1: Launch the Cydia store on your jailbroken iDevice and go to Manage -> Sources -> Edit -> Add.
2: Type the URL address and tap on “Add Source”.
http://repo.insanelyi.com
3: Once the installation is completed, Search for “iBooks Fix” in Cydia and install it.
After installing the iBooks Fix, now you can read the purchased iBooks from iBoostore without any error.
