Greenpois0n RC6.1 Released for iOS 4.2.1 Jailbreak with iBooks DRM Fix

Chronic Dev Team has released the updated version Greenpois0n RC6.2 for Mac & Windows  users that resolves the iBooks DRM issue.

Previously, Users who have Jailbroken their iPhones with Greenpois0n on iOS 4.2.1 firmware, attempt to open e-books purchased from the iBook store are prompted with the following error message:

There is a problem with the configuration of your iPhone. Please restore with iTunes and reinstall iBooks.

Whenever a user tries to open a iBook, it tries to run unsigned or improperly signed binaries as a test to see if the device is jailbroken. If those binaries run successfully, the device is marked as having been jailbroken and the eBook refuses to open. Now, that Chronic Dev Team has patched greenpois0n, you can now restore your device and run the jailbreak again.

Like the past GreenPois0n RC releases, RC6.1 includes support these devices on iOS 4.2.1:

• iPod Touch 2G, 3G, 4G
• iPad
• iPhone 3GS
• iPhone 4
• Verizon iPhone 4 (iOS 4.2.6)
• Apple TV 2

If your device is not jailbroken, you should use the “Greenpois0n RC6.1″. And if your device is already jailbroken with the earlier version of Greenpois0n RC, you can simply install “iBooks fix” tweak from Cydia store to resolve this problem and don’t need to restore and re-jailbreak.

If you rely on unlock and baseband preservation, you should use Sn0wbreeze 2.2 or PwnageTool 4.2 instead which already comes with iBooks Fix patch.
