Jailbreak Apple TV 2G Untethered on iOS 4.2.1 with Seas0nPass Software [Mac]

Firecore Team has just released an updated version of  Seas0nPass jailbreak tool which can jailbreak your Apple TV 2G untethered on iOS 4.2.1.

For who don’t know, Seas0nPass is a jailbreaking tool just like PwnageTool for Mac and Sn0wbreeze for Windows users, which allows you to create custom jailbroken IPSW firmware files for your Apple TV second-generation devices. The Seas0nPass version 0.7.0 is based on feedface kernal exploit from Greenpois0n to untether jailbreak on iOS 4.2.1.Currently, The new updated version of Seas0nPass is available for Mac OS X users only, Windows version is coming soon.

Requirement for jailbreaking:

• A Micro-USB cable to connect with your Apple TV 2G
• Latest iTunes v10.1.2
• iOS 4.2.1 firmware for Apple TV
• Seas0nPass (software) 0.7.0 for Mac

Jailbreak Apple TV 2G Untethered iOS 4.2.1 using Seas0nPass

1 - Download and launch Seas0nPass jailbreak tool.

2 - Click on “Create IPSW” option.

3 - Seas0nPass will automatically download all the iOS firmware files required for Apple TV 2G.

4 – When prompted by Seas0nPass, connect your Apple TV device using micro-USB cable.

5 - Hold down both the “Menu” and “Play/Pause” buttons for 7 seconds to put your device into DFU mode.6 – Once your device in DFU Mode, iTunes will automatically open to start the restore process.7 - Wait, till the iTunes complete its restoring process. And then, unplug your USB cable and connect the HDMI cable to install your desire applications.

You are done now. You will have now untethered jailbroken Apple TV 2G on iOS 4.2.1.
