Seas0nPass 0.7.2: Jailbreak your Apple TV 2G on iOS 4.3 [Mac]

After the release of iOS 4.3, the FireCore team has pushed out an updated version of Seas0nPass jailbreak tool – Seas0nPass 0.7.2 which now supports tethered jailbreak on the iOS 4.3 running Apple TV 2G.

Please note that the Seas0nPass performs tethered jailbreak for iOS 4.3 so you need to boot your Apple TV device into tethered mode each time you reboot it.

Those who don’t know, Seas0nPass is like PwnageTool for Mac, or Sn0wbreeze for Windows, which lets you create custom jailbroken .IPSW files for your second-gen Apple TV.

Jailbreak your Apple TV 2G on iOS 4.3 using Seas0nPass 0.7.2

1: First Download and launch Seas0nPass 0.7.2 for Mac OS X jailbreak tool.

2: select “Create IPSW” option to create custom jailbroken firmware for Apple TV.

3: Now Seas0nPass will start to download all the required files to build custom iOS 4.3 firmware for Apple TV 2G.

4: When prompted, connect your Apple TV 2G to computer using a micro-USB cable (leave power disconnected), and hold-down both the ‘MENU’ and ‘PLAY/PAUSE’ buttons for 7 seven seconds.

5: Than iTunes will open automatically and start the restore process to Apple TV device.

6: Once iTunes confirm that restore is completed, your Apple TV will be jailbroken on iOS 4.3.

Now to boot your Apple TV device into “tethered-boot” mode follow these simple steps.

1: Disconnect the Apple TV from your computer.

2: Start the Seas0nPass again, and select the ‘Boot Tethered’ option.

3: When prompted by Seas0nPass, connect the Apple TV to your computer via micro-USB. Wait for the rapid flashing light on Apple TV, and then connect the power. Once both are connected, hold-down both the ‘MENU’ and ‘PLAY/PAUSE’ buttons for 7 seven seconds to enter into DFU mode.

4: Now Seas0nPass will automatically complete the tethered boot. Your jailbroken Apple TV 2G will boot in tethered boot mode.

Once it is done, remove the micro-USB cable and connect the HDMI cable.
