Apple has just hit a new milestone for its App Store apps. Now, there are more than 5,00,000 approved iOS applications for iPhone, iPad & iPod Touch in Apple App Store.

When the App Store was launched back in July 2008, there were only 500 apps available and after 34 months, it has just achieved the half million approved iOS apps milestone. Back in January, it had reached the milestone of 10 Billion Downloads with over 400,000 iOS apps.
According to the infographic,
- The average price of an app is $3.64 and 37% of all apps are free
- In 2010 ‘app’ was named as Word of the Year by the American Dialect Society
- It would cost $891,982.24 and over 7 terabytes to download all apps available in the App Store
- Angry Bird held the No 1 position for 275 days
